We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Data Center Engineer to support and manage data center operations across the UAE. This role involves the deployment, maintenance, and support of server and storage infrastructure, coordination with vendors, and execution of data center migrations and hardware replacements. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, highly organized, and ready to work in a dynamic 24/7 environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist the IT Infrastructure team with day-to-day data center operations, including racking, stacking, and hardware installation/configuration of servers and storage units.
  • Coordinate with vendors for service requests, remote troubleshooting sessions, and field engineer (FE) support.
  • Escort vendor engineers during on-site maintenance or hardware replacements; perform Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU) replacements for HP and Oracle servers.
  • Conduct regular server health checks across all data centers and prepare detailed reports in Excel.
  • Provide First-Level Maintenance (FLM) for fiber and copper cabling infrastructure.
  • Execute data center migration and evacuation activities: uninstall, transport, reinstall hardware, and coordinate with the warehouse team for storage and retrieval of assets.
  • Collaborate with the Electro-Mechanical (EM) team for facility-related operations within the data center.
  • Manage shipping and receiving of Return Material Authorization (RMA) parts through logistics and supply chain partners.
  • Support backup operations using magnetic tapes as per organizational policy.
  • Oversee and maintain data centers across multiple locations in the UAE

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or a related field OR a 3-year diploma in Computer/IT Engineering.
  • Certifications: MCSE and Server Hardware Level Certification.

Minimum Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 5 Years of experience in Data Center Environment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server environments.
  • Proficiency with server hardware from HP, Oracle, Huawei, Dell, and Cisco (including chassis and blade systems).
  • Familiarity with fiber and copper cabling standards and infrastructure.
  • Experience working with Dell EMC storage systems like Data Domain and VNX.
  • Understanding of data center operations, best practices, and standards.
  • Strong documentation skills with zero-error accuracy, using MS Excel and Word.
  • Awareness of UAE geography for efficient data center travel and logistics.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Vendor coordination and support ticket logging.
  • Performing hardware health checks and OS installations.
  • Mounting and configuring server equipment.
  • Documentation and report generation.
  • Handling the RMA process (collection and dispatch).
  • Performing CRU replacements and Acceptance Testing Procedures (ATP).
  • Managing data center evacuations and equipment transfers to warehouses.
  • Coordinating storage degaussing and hardware maintenance with TSRM and SAN teams.
  • Raising support tickets and creating documents in platforms like HCM and Maximo.
